We have some very busy weeks coming up here at goodship, and although I am trying to keep some tricks up my figurative sleeve, I wanted to dump on you guys some more bits of goodness that I have been finding. It’s been a rather stressful holiday vacation for me, and as usual I dealt with that by secluding myself to my computer and scouring the interzone for a plethora of new hot tunes. Here is a sampling of them, but I have kept the best under wraps to whip out in the upcoming weeks.
Dates to keep blocked out:
January 19, Metroland benefit show (feat. Goodship and the Troy dance party freakout extravaganza)
January 25th, The Unofficial Official TNO Afterparty at revolution Hall
February 15th, Something extra special… possibly including Pinatas filled with sex toys
February 29th, The Unofficial Official TNO Afterparty at super secret location TBA
Now for the tunes!
Fergie - Fergalicious (MrMen Remix)
I have a guilty pleasure for all of the big time radio pop songs. Hot remixes like this help me reclaim my musical respect when i play them. Between this, Maneater (Bird Peterson remix) and Umbrella ( Diplo re-edit), you can satisfy the seasoned dance music veterans, and the newcomers that are more into “club” type tracks.
Blondie - Heart of Glass (Product.01 edit)
Holy shitmonster (www.2girls1….. nah I cant) this song totally kicks. Blondie is a total dancefloor slayer. All the girls just soak it up and sing along, and when the girls go nuts the guys follow pretty closely. The other side of the telephone type lyric effects are really spot on and the synth lines are great. There is alot going on in this track but it still holds itself together really well. Props to Product.01 for putting together such a good track.
DJ Kool - Let Me Clear My Throat ( Cousin Cole Demo Edit)
Does this really need any explanation? Almost everybody knows this track, and its a total party tune. It is a little light, but its just a demo so maybe there will be more eventually. Cousin Cole is a super nice guy, and you all love his Soulja Boy remix.
DJ Mehdi - Signature (Thomas Bangalter Edit)
We have alot of newcomers to the blog, and alot of kids that are just figuring out about dance music and want samples of what they are going to hear at our parties. Im pretty sure this was done in 2007, almost positive, and must be one of my most frequently heard tracks in all of those french banger mixes that are out there. Bangalter is huge from Daft Punk fame, and Mehdi rolls deep with that Ed Banger crowd so he isn’t doing too shabby either.
Yelle - Ce Jeu ( Cosmo Remix)
Super Hot. Great choppy female vocals from one of the most remixed artists out there, Yelle. Has a real TEPR sound to it. The sweetest and happiest vocals out of any of the Yelle tracks, backed by some crazy bass line and tweaked out synth. Cant wait to play this out.
For those of you who like it hard:
