jenkins - top 5 :: numero 3

December 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

Semester is over, yippee! Whose ready for new years? I’ll be DJing at one, maybe two, gnarly new years parties so keep your ear to the floor to find out where to go to get your dance on. I’ve put together a quickie recent top 5 to blurt out before christmas so people can get a taste of what i have been finding. How do you guys feel about some of the more indie remix dance stuff? like that gorillaz track down there. Im kinda on the fence, but its just such a great song. Alright lets get to it…

Black Ghosts - Lets Get Physical

If the Black Ghosts were rap they would totally be considered balla. I have loved pretty much everything i have heard from these guys. There is proof in that delicious pudding i just made if you refer to previous posts of mine and see their names popping up there as well. This is just a generally great track anyway, mainly because nobody knows what song it is until the main “lets get physical” hook comes in.
Dave Nada - Where Brooklyn At?

Heard this track in a whole bunch of Tittsworth mixes and wanted it really bad, until recently i wasn’t able to get a hold of it but now that its in my skinny ass pale hands i feel i must disperse it to the masses like anarchist pamphlets. Dave Nada for all. In case you didn’t know though, here is where it is at:

Gorillaz - Dare (Junior Sanchez Remix)

I didn’t even know that I liked this song. It has been stuck in my head from the radio or something for awhile now and i could never pinpoint what song it was exactly. This remix of it is really great, and Junior Sanchez has done a lot of other great stuff as well.

Heads We Dance - Love in a Digital Age (Tepr Remix)
Tepr stuff is so tight, its usually an instant download when I see it around. Oh, I used to idolize how cool those dudes were in the dancing Yelle video that can be seen here, but then I saw same said guys doing their thing here, here, and here, and totally didn’t find it as cool. Heads We Dance can be heard here.

The Bloody Beetroots - Ill to Destroy

Beetroots are one of my top artists. They kick an ungodly amount of ass. This made me want to get working on that Slayer - Angel of Death remix I have been dreaming of.
