I loathe waking up early. You know what i hate even more? The incredible flakeyness that is the Macbook Pro’s USB ports. I have to travel to the most godawful place on earth today, the mall, to buy some cheap ass imported USB hub so i can get my setup working the way i want.

Ok, im done venting.

I am legitimately pumped for Tittsworth on Monday and im gearing myself for the all night party (you should too). Considering his flight leaves the next morning at 6AM, i have a feeling we aren’t exactly going to be doing that much sleeping. Want to join us? talk to us at the gig.

In slew off his arrival, and to keep the fresh music flowing, I am tossing up my Recent5, a small taste of what I am digging right now. Some of its rather old, but there are a lot of youngsters (like me) in our little booming Troy scene. I am hoping all of it will get put to good use. And hey, if you don’t like it, I am sure skfl or back from japan’s picks will make you feel saucy.

The Black Ghosts - Any Way (Fake Blood Remix)

The vocal clipping at the beginning of this song is amazing, and is one of my favorite things to start fading into a mix. There is also a hidden Bmore backbeat in there, so you can take this song into almost anything. Did i mention the Black Ghosts were awesome to begin with, and highly remixed. ::The Black Ghosts:: ::Fake Blood::

Digikid-84 - B Boy Underground (Culture Prophet Remix)

i picked up this song from one of my favorite blogs this week, kissatlanta. The exact post can be found here and is worth checking out furreal. Along with this Culture Prophet remix, the original Digikid track is up there, and while it is good i must say this CP remix is far more tasty to me. The song goes from an 80’s vocal cut to absolute banger really well, and the way it builds and explodes is great. I cant wait to get this on the decks and see how the crowd reacts to it.

Justice - Phantom (Boyz Noise Remix)

Is this wicked old? If it is, I am sorry i didn’t find you earlier you beautiful little thing. Justice gets requested more than anything, and im so sick of playing D.A.N.C.E I cant even tell you. At Marissa’s birthday bash i played the original, and 3 remixes because everyone was demanding it be played and going nuts every single time. Phantom is one of my favorite Justice tracks, but its hard to deal with some of the high pitch parts in the mix, the Boyz here take care of most of that and turn this into non stop beat, and i appreciate it. The beginning is great to, just mutated enough that it takes a little while to recognize what track is dropping (if you aren’t a die-hard Justice fan), and then when it drops its just straight up malarkey.

Matt and Kim - Yeah Yeah! (Flosstradamus Remix)

For the indy kids. Gotta take care of those kids that love their light and lovey upbeat dance stuff, and Flosstradamus nails it. The Basement Jaxx background loop is perfect and nostalgic as well. I usually don’t play this kind of stuff out for the bigger gigs, but whenever we do our little small gatherings i throw this stuff out there non stop. Its pretty easy to mix and people love it. Its also a great sing-along intermission to all the heavy dance.

Thomas Bangalter - Spinal Scratch

I’m really into this track when I’m riding my bike, its a real headbobber. I dont know if its necessarily hard enough for my set, some of if it definitely thumping, but all in all i got to find another track to play behind it. The beggining is so funked out, and i love the little melody that keeps getting repeated. I need a good song to go behind it, because I can think of so many to come out of with this due to that great little melody. ::Bangalter is 1/2 of Daft Punk::

Big ups to kissatlanta and missingtoof. I know for a fact a few tracks were from atlanta, and if some of the others werent on the toof, plenty more in the future will be. Definitely check them both out.
